SportAccord 2022 Local Organising Committee Partners with the ‘SportDrive – Best for 2021’ Sport Journalism Contest

Ekaterinburg, Russia‘SportDrive’ is held every year under the patronage of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region with expert judges determining the best journalists in 10 categories from a variety of media organisations.

“Sports journalists make a great contribution to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. They talk about the successes of Russian athletes, broadcast live from international competitions, which not everyone can attend. Every year we choose the best journalists and thank them for their hard work and undying interest in the topic of sports,” said Sverdlovsk Region Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Leonid Rapoport.

This year Dmitry Putilin, Head of the Local Organising Committee of SportAccord 2022, was included in the number of expert judges. In addition, for the first time in the history of the contest, a special nomination ‘The best material about an international sporting event in the Sverdlovsk Region’ has been added.

“Holding the World Sport & Business Summit in Ekaterinburg is the result of a long and sustained effort in the development of sports in the region. A year before the Summer University Games our country has a chance to show the results of this work, solve the problems we have accumulated, absorb the experience of the key players of the world sport and share our ideas,” says Dmitry Putilin. “One of the Summit days will be devoted to media, broadcasting, new promotion channels, social networks and so on via its MediaAccord conference. We are expecting over 250 foreign journalists covering the business of sport as well as top managers from over 125 International Sport Federations.”

The winners will be announced on 22 December 2021 in Ekaterinburg. On the same day a round table will be held, with the participation of Minister of Sport Leonid Rapoport and leading sports experts of the Sverdlovsk region.
