Chris Jenkins OBE, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, is a distinguished leader with a career spanning decades in both business and the world of sport.

With a rich history in Commonwealth Sport and Sport for Development Chris embarked on his Commonwealth Sport journey by representing Wales as a rower at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games before moving in to sports administration for Commonwealth Games Sport Wales in 2006. Chris led Team Wales as Chef de Mission in 2010 for the Delhi Games before becoming CEO and continuing to lead the team through three of Wales’s most successful Games. Prior to being elected as President of the Commonwealth Games Federation in 2023. Chris served as one if its Vice-Presidents and Chair of the CGF’s Development Committee.

Before moving in to Sport Chris worked in asset management in London for 24 years with a successful career in global markets and becoming director for Rothschild in 1994 for 9 years has a degree from Oxford University, an MBA from Warwick Business School and has just completed his PhD on the sustainability of Multi-Sport events.
