Dr Adam Kosa

Member of the European Parliament President of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD)

Dr. Ádám Kósa, lawyer, has been the President of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) since 2022. Before he was president of the Hungarian Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SINOSZ) since 2005. 

 Dr. Kósa has been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2009, focusing on social and employment policy and development in Global South. In 2013, in recognition of his work, he was awarded MEP of the Year by the European Parliament. 

 Dr. Kósa also holds a degree in Sports Management from Faculty of Sport Science, Semmelweis University, Budapest. As a former deaf ski racer, he helped the legal work of the ICSD as a legal expert from 2004, and from 2015 he was a member of the executive board of the Hungarian Paralympic Committee, from 2017 he was the vice-president of the Hungarian Deaf Sports Federation, and from 2021 he will be a member of the board of the ICSD. Finally, in September of 2022 he was been selected as President of the ICSD.
