SportAccord President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli and Sverdlovsk Region Governor Evgeny Kuivashev discussed the details of the preparation of Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region for the World Sport & Business Summit, which will be held on November 7-12. The working meeting was held on June 6 in Budapest with SportAccord Managing Director, Nis Hatt also taking part in the meeting.
Leaders, top managers, key decision-makers, sports functionaries from all over the world, including the heads of International Sport Federations, will gather in Ekaterinburg. This is the third time that Russia will host this important event for the international sport community.
“We have fully implemented all the agreements reached during the negotiations with the SportAccord. All organisational issues and tasks related to ensuring the safety of participants and guests of the World Sport & Business Summit are tackled comprehensively.” the Governor said.
According to Governor Kuivashev, who came to Budapest from St. Petersburg, where he attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2021, one of the tasks of the Sverdlovsk delegation to SPIEF 2021 was to study the issues of ensuring the epidemiological safety of participants of a large congress event. In the Sverdlovsk region, similar measures will be taken during the World Sport & Business Summit: testing of guests and participants, constant monitoring of their health. In addition, vaccination is actively carried out in the region.
Dr. Raffaele Chiulli thanked Governor Kuivashev for organising the last site visit to Ekaterinburg.
“We were left with a positive impression, felt the power of friendship and cooperation, and we are pleased with everything we have seen and heard regarding the preparation for SportAccord 2021.
“We would like to thank you for your active role in the Virtual Launch Celebration for SportAccord 2021 at the International Federation (IF) Forum 2021, as we received a lot of positive feedback. Our community felt the commitment and excitement of the Sverdlovsk Region to welcome the international sport family to the wonderful city of Ekaterinburg.”
According to Governor Kuivashev, the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit will give an opportunity to present the Sverdlovsk Region to the world community once again.
“This is the surest way to attract new partners and new projects. Imagine that all our guests will then go to their cities and countries and bring information about our region, about our opportunities. We will agree on something right on the sidelines of the Summit. This is always the case. Secondly, we also expect an immediate effect from the Summit. In fact, participation in such events is business tourism. People stay in our hotels, have dinner in our restaurants, use our services, have time to go to our museums, and so on. They are loading up the hospitality industry, and this is a big plus for small businesses.”
