Taipei City

Taipei City, Taiwan’s capital, is a hub for political, economic, cultural, educational, healthcare, and academic progress.

Nestled in the northern Taipei Basin and surrounded by New Taipei City, it comprises 12 districts with 2.5 million residents, making it Taiwan’s fourth most populous and most densely populated area.

Renowned as a sports city, Taipei has hosted the 2017 Universiade and is set to organize major events in 2024, including the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships, Tour de Taiwan, Taipei Open (BWF World Tour Super 300), and the WBSC Premier12 (Group B).

Additionally, the city is known for the Taipei International Dragon Boat Race and Taipei Marathon.

Currently, Taipei collaborates with New Taipei City for the 2025 World Masters Games, bolstering its global sports presence.
