Professional experience

Attorney-at-law admitted at Madrid Bar (since 2002).

In the field of football, Emilio have been the Legal Director of the Spanish Football Federation for
more than eight years (2004-2012). During this period, he also served as member of the UEFA Control,
Ethics and Disciplinary Body (2006-2012). In March 2012, he was appointed CAS Arbitrator.

In September 2012, Emilio joined UEFA as Head of Disciplinary and Integrity, being subsequently
promoted to Managing Director of Integrity. At UEFA, Emilio was leading the disciplinary, anti-doping
and anti-match manipulation departments. In this period, he also acted before the CAS as UEFA’s
leading counsel for sports arbitration matters.

In September 2018, Emilio joined FIFA as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer (Legal Di. He is currently
responsible for all FIFA legal and compliance matters (anti-doping, commercial, regulatory, corporate,
etc), leading a group of more than 150 colleagues in this field.
