During the Summer Olympics SportAccord Convention attendee Input Media will produce a daily Olympics channel for Octagon for sub-Saharan Africa. The service will include three hours of programming of African interest, reports The Sports Media Hub. The programme will be offered in French as well as English. It's the first time Input Media is working in French.

The London Games will mark the end of standard definition for all major sports events for the European Broadcasting Union, a long-time supporter of SportAccord Convention through Eurovision. The EBU will offer only HD for the first time during the Games. The EBU will be running 12 simultaneous multilateral transmissions and three unilateral feeds for up to 13 hours a day for the duration of both the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games.

SportAccord Convention attendee deltatre will deliver BBC's online live interactive video player for London Games coverage, offering a choice from up to 24 concurrent live HD streams.

Australian broadcast partners will crank up no fewer than nine channels to cover this summer's Olympics in London. The three partners are the main rights holder Nine Network, Foxtel and their joint venture TOU (The Olympic Unit). They will be telecasting eight 24-hour channels for Fox Sports and 16 hours a day for C9. Presteigne Charter is supplying the project management and facilities and will also supplying the London 2012 project management and technical facilities for Canada's CTV.
