Ian Reid

Ian Reid CBE is currently CEO of the Asian Games, Riyadh 2034. Prior to this he was CEO of both the Riyadh – Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 and Riyadh – World Combat Games 2023.

He is Non-Executive Chair of Commonwealth Games Scotland – the body responsible for selecting and preparing Team Scotland for each Commonwealth Games and he was the Vice Chair of the recent Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

Ian was CEO of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and CFO of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

He is an Advisor to the UK Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Office and Government on the UK Government Major Events strategy including taking an assurance role on major ceremonial events.

Ian was awarded a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) medal in the UK King’s first honours list in 2023 for services to sport.
