Esther Britten

Esther Britten is the Deputy Director and Head of Events & External Affairs at UK Sport, where she leads the strategic delivery of major sporting events across the United Kingdom. Having built her career in the sporting events sector, Esther has played a pivotal role in shaping the UK’s global reputation as a world-class host of international sporting events.

Esther received an MBE in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours. The honour recognises the immense contribution that Esther has made to the UK’s sporting system over the last 25 years in the field of major events. She has played a key role in the bidding and staging of most of the major one-off international sporting events hosted in the UK over the last decade. These events have enhanced the lives of local communities, and the reputation of the UK globally.
