Émilie Moeschler
Elected to this position in 2021, Émilie Moeschler leads the city’s sports policy across its full spectrum: from relations with international sports federations and organizations, to supporting the city’s dynamic network of clubs and associations, as well as organizing events of international, national, and local scale. Ms. Moeschler also co-chairs the Lausanne Olympic Capital Foundation, created by the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud. This foundation aims to strengthen existing collaboration and synergies and streamline relations with stakeholders in international sport, as well as with organizing committees for international sporting events.
In recent years, the City has developed major sports facilities (including a football stadium, ice rinks, and an aquatic center) and created new, unique spaces dedicated to physical activity, such as the Beaulieu Sports Halls. The City also promotes physical activity among the population as a public health initiative and actively works to challenge gender stereotypes and advance equality in sport.
