Boris van der Vorst

Boris van der Vorst is a Dutch sports administrator, entrepreneur, and the inaugural President of World Boxing. He was elected at the organization’s founding Congress in November 2023, securing 63% of the vote. Prior to that, he served as President of the Dutch Boxing Federation (2014–2023) and chaired the European Boxing Confederation’s “Passion for Boxing” Commission from 2016. Under his leadership, the Netherlands achieved its first Olympic boxing medal in 24 years. In 2018, he was honored with the EUBC President’s Award for outstanding performance and enduring efforts in promoting boxing worldwide. As President of World Boxing, Van der Vorst focuses on restoring integrity, transparency, and governance while ensuring boxing’s full reinstatement into the Olympic Movement for LA28.
