Émilie Moeschler, Municipal Councillor of the City of Lausanne, heads the city’s department of sports and social cohesion.

Elected to this position in 2021, Émilie Moeschler oversees the city’s sports policy in all its dimensions, from managing relationships with international sports world to supporting the city’s rich network of clubs and associations, as well as organising international, national, and local sporting events. Mrs. Moeschler also co-chairs the recently established Lausanne Olympic Capital Foundation, created by the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud, which aims to enhance collaborations and synergies between stakeholders of the Olympic Capital ecosystem, and streamline relationships with international federations and organisers of international sporting events.

The City is also committed to promoting inclusivity in sports by implementing specific initiatives for women and developing programs to encourage physical activity among the entire population. Additionally, the City has inaugurated major sports facilities in recent years, including a new football stadium, ice rinks, and an aquatic center, and has created innovative spaces dedicated to physical activity, such as the “Halles sportives de Beaulieu”.
