Greek sports lawyer and basketball administrator, Andreas Zagklis, has been FIBA’s Secretary General since 2018. Combining his passion for basketball with legal and sports management studies, he started at FIBA in 2007.

In his role, he’s overseen FIBA’s 2019-2027 strategy, driving growth and change. This includes the successful FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, the introduction of 3×3 Basketball at the Olympics, and launching new competitions like the Basketball Africa League.

Andreas is a strong advocate for National Federations, women’s basketball, and innovation, leading the expansion of the Women’s World Cup, the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, and changes to increase female representation in FIBA.
